We’re Europe’s leading design, engineering, environment and regulatory consultancy and we’re now recruiting for a Civil Engineering Apprentice to dive into the world of water engineering.
This role is based in our Glasgow office, 4 days in the office and 1 day at college/university.
Specifically, we are looking for a passionate and forward-thinking individual who strive to make a difference and can work within an inspiring and stimulating team environment. We provide the necessary support and opportunities for you to develop and fulfil your career goals.
What does the role involve?
During your time as an Apprentice, you will spend 80% of your time on project work and 20% of time studying.
Working with Sweco will give you the opportunity to work on landmark projects and schemes of all shapes and sizes. You will also learn from experienced people who share a passion for working together with our customers to deliver technical excellence.
Working in the Water team, you will work within all project stages from inception through to detail design and have opportunity to support our water disciplines. Our water team work on a wide range of national and regional projects and you will have the opportunity to broaden your expertise.

- Demonstrate a positive and collaborative attitude, thriving in a team environment.
- Are enthusiastic about learning and developing technical expertise.
- Aspire to challenge conventional thinking and work collaboratively on diverse business, environmental, and regulatory challenges.
What do you need to apply?
- Have an interest and basic understanding of Civil Engineering with a desire to progress their career in Water.
- 4 Highers (minimum B grades) including Maths or equivalent qualifications and experience.
- Can work in the UK with no restrictions.
- Are happy to be in the office on your non study days, at this level this is really important for your development.
