Uniquely, we recruit to role – and right now we’re looking for Graduate Flood Risk & Water Resources Consultants to join our Flood and Water Management Department.  Your background could be environmental/environmental science engineering, civil engineering, geography or another related discipline.

What does the role involve?

  • As a Graduate Flood Risk & Water Resources Consultant you will be supporting the delivery of a wide variety of projects with the main duties including: Working on diverse projects and gaining hands-on experience in all stages of project delivery.  From feasibility studies and design work to site investigations and construction support, you’ll be a key contributor throughout the project lifecycle. You'll collaborate with a diverse team of experts in hydrology, flood risk management, sustainable drainage, and more!  You'll work together to provide innovative solutions for clients across the public and private sectors (e.g. water companies, local authorities and developers), impacting projects from initial concept to completion. 
  • Providing technical input, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.  You’ll get involved in a wide range of water-related projects, from designing sustainable drainage systems for new developments and the public realm to managing flood risk, for example through hydraulic modelling and as part of WIA process for a wide range of infrastructure projects.  You'll be part of a team of specialists who provide expert advice and design services throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and specialists across disciplines to deliver exceptional results for clients.
  • Contributing to feasibility studies, planning support site investigations and construction support whilst honing your design and modelling skills working alongside leading experts in hydrogeology, hydraulic modelling and water quality.  You’ll gain hands-on experience alongside leading experts in hydrogeology, hydraulic modelling, and water quality. You'll contribute to projects across various sectors, learning from the best as you support every stage of the project lifecycle. Work in a collaborative environment, partnering with colleagues across disciplines to deliver impactful solutions.

What do you need to apply?

We are seeking graduates who:

  • Have a degree in a subject relevant to the role you’re applying for.
  • Have less than 12 months relevant work experience (excluding placements).
  • Are confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
  • Are driven and solution orientated.
  • Can work in the UK with no restrictions. This unfortunately means that we are unable to accept candidates who require sponsorship. This is a permanent role, and we are looking for candidates who can grow and develop their careers with Sweco, we are therefore unable to accept applications from those on a graduate visa due to their time limits.
