We are gearing up for our most exciting and challenging Asset Management Period yet, known as AMP8, this will see us deliver a programme of work larger than we’ve ever delivered before. We’ll be embarking on a new kind of project delivery focusing on nature-based solutions like wetlands and urban drainage schemes.

We are driving change, empowering us to set global benchmarks and build a better environment, with the opportunity to offer enhanced growth and development to our workforce. We’re looking to build on our existing teams with an environment built for career progression.

With such an exciting portfolio of projects planned for AMP8 to keep the water flowing across the region, our ability to manage our work and outperform against our customer’s expectations will come under greater scrutiny.

We need aspiring driven talent to help us achieve our ambitious targets, are you ready to join us as we prepare to deliver the most creative and innovative AMP we have ever seen?

What will you be doing as our new Project Solution Manager?

Being part of the @one Alliance – one of the most successful, award-winning and progress water sector capital delivery organisations, you will work on a diverse programme of wastewater (sewage) treatment, infrastructure (water and sew pipelines) and water (treatment and storage) projects.

You will lead the development of project solutions, develop new ways of working that focus on delivering outcomes, rather than outputs, to reduce carbon, protect and increase natural capital, address climate change, and embrace innovations and new digital technologies.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with the Portfolio Solutions Manager to identify and plan the resources required for project solution generation and selection.

  • Develop Solutions Stage Project Plans, including programmes and budgets, and ensure alignment with Anglian Water. Monitor progress, identify potential changes, and assist with monthly performance reporting.

  • Manage the production and assessment of data and solution options to inform the Risk Opportunity and Value (ROV) process. Record reasons for rejecting solutions and ensure analytical and objective reasoning during ROV workshops.

  • Engage with @one project teams and Anglian Water to communicate progress and facilitate acceptance of preferred solutions.

  • Lead the production of @one Solutions Stage deliverables.

  • Support the @one preferred solution review meeting to assess the confidence and certainty of preferred solutions for efficient delivery in subsequent stages.

  • Support stakeholder engagement and escalation within Anglian Water if required.

Develop Solutions:

  • Understand individual project outcomes and collaborate with @one subject matter experts to undertake root cause analysis, investigations, and data analysis.

  • Assess the value and impact of acquiring additional data if gaps or deficiencies are identified.

  • Coordinate engagement from @one project delivery teams to develop viable solution options that achieve project outcomes and business objectives.

  • Ensure solution options address affordability, design, planning, sustainability, construction, enabling factors, procurement, and operations.

  • Support @one project delivery teams in assessing the certainty and confidence of preferred solutions.

Health & Safety:

  • Support the Technical Manager in producing initial design risk assessments according to Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations.

People/ Team Development:

  • Create a positive and fulfilling work environment that embraces diversity and inclusion.

  • Develop strong working relationships with @one project delivery teams and Anglian Water ADP.

Transformation:

  • Seek to innovate and continuously improve performance.

  • Identify ways to reduce carbon and enhance natural capital within solutions.

  • Support continuous improvement of the solutions process and team.

  • Integrate innovations and lessons learned to realize efficiencies.

A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours…..

To be successful in this position you will hold a degree in an engineering discipline and preferably have experience in water-sector assets and delivering capital projects. Experience in a Design and Build environment is an advantage.  You be able to demonstrator compliance with business ethics, foster collaboration and support the development of skills around you.

You are a natural leader, providing line management for the team, and can confidentially manage activities to achieve efficient outputs to ensure quality procedures are followed, mitigating risk where necessary.  You’ll enjoy the challenge of contributing to commercial performance and identifying improvements.
